The house
High ceilings, and grass that runs down to the water
The house sits on a 3,300-square-metre plot at the far end of Øer, with open land towards the water and no neighbours in the view. From the living room and both terraces you look out over the Kattegat, where the Ebeltoft ferries cross the horizon.
Inside there are 156 square metres: four bedrooms, a sleeping loft, two bathrooms, and a long living room with a wood-burning stove under sloping timber ceilings. The pool room is glazed along its full length towards the garden. The house was renovated in 2019 and is laid out so that ten people can be here at once without getting in each other's way.

Pool & sauna
A whole wing for bad weather
The pool is 24 square metres and heated year-round by the house's heat pump. It has a shallow end for the youngest and a swim-trainer current for anyone who wants to swim further than the room is long. The whirlpool and the sauna are next door.

Djursland on the doorstep
Øer lies on the southern tip of Djursland, minutes from Ebeltoft, with Mols Bjerge National Park as a neighbour.
Nature
Mols Bjerge National Park
An ice-age landscape of hills, heath and grassland above Ebeltoft Bay. Trehøje is worth the walk for the view alone.

The Frigate Jylland
The longest surviving wooden ship in the world sits in dry dock in Ebeltoft, and you can walk the full length of her hull.
